I arrived home from Africa on Friday night around 9pm...walked into my home by 10pm and took my first hot shower without a flashlight in 2 weeks, then passed out for 10 hours in my king-sized bed beside my husband who I missed terribly while I was away. I was in heaven. The trip was absolutely amazing, don't get me wrong, but boy, did I miss the comforts of home! I was humbled by 17-year-old Hannah's comment while we were in Uganda..."we get to go home, but this is their (orphans) home." I've come home a much more grateful and thankful believer, wife, daughter, sister, and friend. Really, I am so blessed.

| This is Jesse and I "before" Africa |
 |
| This is the newest member of our family, Tony! He is our Kenya baby and sponsored child. That smile and his hugs changed my life. I can't wait for Isaac to meet him some day. |
 |
| And here I am with Jesse "after" surviving Africa...looks like we left our hearts and our beauty in Africa!!! |
I'm still a little groggy and adjusting to being home. I plan to blog more about the trip this week. Stay-tuned!
Tony is a cutie!
ReplyDeleteHi Kyle! Love your blog and reading about your adoption adventures. Hope you and Isaac are doing well! Was wondering if you'd be interested in doing a post sometime about your skincare regimen/recommended products. You always look great, and I wondered what your advice would be to those of us pushing 30 (and beyond)!
ReplyDeletethis is Sharon, by the way :)
DeleteKyle,
ReplyDeleteEnjoying your blog! I look forward to hearing more in person!
